90g Reef Tank - Fish

Normally one should stock fish slowly, especially in a new, small aquarium.  I have started with three hardy fish, and will add a couple more later.  I already have my list of fish I want in the tank - all peaceful fish.  However, to allow the biofilter chance to adjust I will only add more fish in 2-3 weeks' time.

Amphiprion ocellaris

Ocellaris clownfish

19 Mar '10

I got this captive bred juvenile Ocellaris from J&L Aquatics, and true to their nature it is already swimming against all the various little currents I have in my tank.  Hopefully it will find refuge some day in my Colt coral like my previous clown fish did.

Nemateleortris magnifica

Fire Goby

19 Mar '10 A hardy fish, I decided this time I would have one of these in my tank rather than the purple firefish - for variety.  It hid in a cave since I added it to the tank, but came out today for at least two hours already and started to feed.

Siganus unimaculatus

Onespot Foxface Rabbitfish

20 Mar '10 Since I have some hair algae on my live rock that has started taking off, I decided to push the limits of how many fish I would normally add to the tank at once, and added a small (9cm) Foxface.  He was shy at first but is much better now - picking at the algae on the live rock and eating mysis and nori that I feed him.

Gobiosoma evelynae

Sharknose Goby

10 Apr '10 These tiny cleaner gobies are really interesting to watch.  Mine swims in my hand and tries to clean it from parasites whenever I do tank maintenance.  Also, this is the fish with the biggest appetite of all fish I have ever seen.

Neocirrhites armatus

Flame Hawkfish

10 Apr '10 I managed to find a beautiful, small Flame Hawkfish that seem to be in good health.  He owns the whole tank as all corals and live rock is his territory, though he is not (yet) aggressive in any way to his tank mates.

Cirrhilabrus luteovittatus

Yellowstreaked Fairy Wrasse (female)

12 Jun '10 This is the female in a mated pair.  They seem to be adjusting well to my tank - swimming everywhere together.

Cirrhilabrus luteovittatus

Yellowstreaked Fairy Wrasse (male)

12 Jun '10 This male is quite flashy, and has decided the whole tank is his territory.  He does not like the Foxface much, though.
