| 10 Aug '07 | Lighting Upgrade | My Infinity XR4 light fitting finally arrived from Italy. It is a beautiful fitting consisting of 2 x 400W BLV 14K SE MH bulbs and 4 x T5 54W tubes, 2 of which are AquaBlue+ and two Actinics. The increase in light is dramatic, and all the mushrooms are now much happier - not standing like trumpets anymore. |

I tested my Phosphate levels today for the first time as I assumed it would be perfect, since the aquarium was just started. Well, it turns out I was wrong. Phosphate (P) measured 0.17 mg/L - Ideally it should be below 0.015 mg/L. So I added my old Phosban 150 reactor with 500g RowaPhos to the sump in an attempt to remove these phosphates. |
