480g Predator Tank - Coral

Stocking the 480g with soft corals is no easy task. Some of my inverts decided to eat my Zoanthids and Mushrooms. Before the tank has stabilised I am not going to post all of the corals - I first want to see which ones make it and which ones not.

Title Date Acquired Notes
Amplexidiscus fenestrafer Amplexidiscus fenestrafer
Giant Elephant ear mushroom

This mushroom used to be in my reef aquarium, however I never expected in a million years that this coral can inflate itself this much.

It used to be a small saucer sized coral, however in a couple days' time it enlarged itself to the size of a normal plate.

Once moved to the 480g it is much happier. I rarely target feeds it, but when I do it balloons up and closes over the prey.

Medium flow with intermittent surges to blow off detritus, low light.

Zoanthus Zoanthus
Zoanthid

Some Zoanthids I want to start encrusting on to my live rock.

Medium flow and low light.

Zoanthus Zoanthus
Zoanthid

Ditto... Medium flow and low light.

Corallimorpharia Corallimorpharia
Unidentified Purple Mushroom

Beautiful purple mushrooms - unfortunately I seem to have trouble identifiying them.

They are placed in a medium light, medium flow area.

Pachyclavularia Pachyclavularia
Star Polyps

These star polyps have been with me since the beginning of the old 125g tank. They are much healthier in the new tank.

Currently they are receiving low light and medium flow.

Ricordia Ricordia Ricordia mushroom. They used to be unhappy due to insufficient light, but now with the Sfigoli lights they are much happier.
Ricordia Ricordia Another species of ricordia.
Leather

Sarcophyton

Leather coral

This is the leather I used to have in my 145g tank - but due to its size I was forced to move it to my predator tank. It is now healthier than ever.
Zoanthids

Zoanthus

Zoanthid

Another kind of Zoanthid that is happy (as long as it is not harassed by the wrasses)
