MaxiJet MJ750 Powerhead | 9 Jul '07 | Two of these MaxiJet MJ750 pumps create most of the flow in the tank. They are nice since one can change the direction of the outflow pipe. |

Eheim HOB Filter | 9 Jul '07 | The Eheim HOB filter, which works quite well and is smaller than most other HOB filters. |

Tank viewed from back | 9 Jul '07 |
A view from the back of the tank. I wanted to have the tank viewable from all sides, even though the heater is clearly visible. This is the view clients see when they walk in to my office. Unfortunately for them I reserve the best view for myself. |

Doryrhamphus dactyliophorus Banded pipefish |
5 Jul '07 |
I originally bought two banded pipefish, but one died after three days. It never ate and never swam about - so my guess is that it was stressed too much during the transportation. It seems as if this pipefish is more nocturnal as it regularly search for small copepods during the night. Currently it refuses any kind of live or dead food I am offering, so I hope I will make some progress soon. Update: The other one was moved to my 145g reef since I felt the 12g was not yet ready due to the high phosphates etc. It disappeared in the 145g reef in 1 day - so I assume it was eaten :( |
